The old Dell is gone. (Or will be at some point Monday when FedEx arrives to pick it up at my house) The new one is singing along nicely. The worst part of this whole thing is the staggering amount of data I lost! That, I’m still a bit numb over. Hadn’t followed my own advice and didn’t have a good back-up after all. To make a long and terribly depressing story short, all the stuff I’ve written since way back when I first started writing, is gone. More upset about that than some of the pictures. I did get most of my photography back, and I’ve never won an award for writing anything so maybe its not as bad as it seems! read more

This is my first attempt at taking a photo with a home-made pin-hole lens (by home-made, I mean I literally made it using an aluminum can, a black sharpie, a pair of scissors, and a spare lens cap that I drilled a hole in!). I know it’s not a perfect photo, but I really like the way it came out. I set the camera on manual, opened the shutter for five seconds and voila! I did convert it to B&W using photoshop. I’ll also include here the original color photo to give you an idea of what it looked like before I did any “developing” on it. Hope you like!

Here’s a real winner America. This is the guy who claimed in 2008 that gas prices in America should be the same as they are in Europe! I’m pretty sure the average price of a gallon of gas in Europe right now is around $9.00 a gallon! Well guess what Chu, you’ve almost got us there, and it is killing us. Is our attorney general for real? Now he’s taking on the NYPD. This comes after his speech this week about killing American citizens. To make matters worse, when the head of the FBI was questioned yesterday about whether they could legally kill Americans in America, he stammered and stuttered his way to saying he’d have to refer that question back to the Justice department! How is it, we’ve come to the point of having to question our leaders about whether or not they can kill us in our own country? It’s time to be scared America! Unfortunately, of our own government. Don’t waste your time or money. They truly suck. Poor customer service to the point of the reps being flat out rude. I was told to just deal with it. They should be put out of business. If anyone out there is interested in starting a class action law suit, I would be very interested in signing on. Consumers should not be treated in such a manner. They flat out lie, cheat, and steal from us. (the consumer) The BBB or Congress or someone should be doing something about this. Avoid Directv at all costs. I’m not sure I’d buy it again if I had it to do over. It’s case is a cheap, lousy imitation of the MacBook Pro. (they, (Dell) are claiming it is the thinnest “Windows PC” laptop available, at 2mm thicker than the MacBook Pro. Thus the “Windows PC” distinction in the description!) The first day I had it the flimsy little piece of plastic chrome trim that surrounds the base broke. I had to glue it back together! Pick it up wrong and your snapping the base back together because it pops apart. Very flimsily made. read more
